New 350PS 2016 Ford Focus RS
The new Ford Focus RS has been launched and is the fastest ever RS with a top speed of 165mph, capable of 0-60mph in only 4.7 seconds and is powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged, 6-speed manual, petrol engine that outputs 350PS with 440Nm of torque. Excellent low-end responsiveness is matched by powerful mid-range pull and the free-revving top-end is set to a maximum limit of 6,800 rpm.
Aimed at rivals such as the Honda Civic Type R, Audi RS3, Golf R and M135i, the RS strips off acceleration time from most of them and, compared to those that slightly beat it to 60mph, it saves thousands off the price tag! It also comes with a 'Drift' mode function where the driver can get 70% of power sent to the rear wheels or send all of that power to one wheel if required. In fact, the RS offers four different drive modes that configure the all-wheel drive system, steering response, engine response, exhaust sound, electronic stability control and damper controls for optimal performance. Other drive modes alongside the 'Drift' mode include 'Normal', 'Sport' or 'Track'.
Standard equipment on the RS includes features such as Dual-zone Electronic Air Temperature Control (EATC), Bi-Xenon HID headlamps with adaptive lighting, SYNC2 with 8inch Touchscreen DAB audio system, Nine speakers, Automatic dimming rear view mirror, Start-Stop, Hill Start Assist, RS branded Recaro front seats with leather side bolsters and 350mm ventilated front disc brakes with lightweight Brembo four-piston monoblock calipers.
There are certain optional features available too that include Active City Stop, a Luxury pack, Ford SYNC2 Navigation System and an Electric tilt/slide sunroof to name but a few.
